生与死

 

今天早上我们把女儿带到洛杉矶县记录所去,帮她做出生登记。这就是我们在大门前所看见的。

生命实在是包括生与死。

每一张证明书的后面都有一个快乐或者悲伤的故事,可是过程都看似例行公事。生命里最有意义的事件总是以最没有意义的方式记录。生命的真正意义在于领悟更深层的意义,就是佛教说的无死。

大部分在政府机构的人都是懒洋洋的,什么事都是慢吞吞的,所以我们在楼下大厅想找些有趣的事做。在一张长桌子的一端,我们发现了一张很有意思的申请表。我以前不知道得填这张表,但现在知道了!这是法律规定!哈哈!百分之百的通过率。

有没有谁想死?请填表!只有在洛杉矶……两小时后,我们终于拿到了出生证明。

有一次,一个僧侣问大随法真:“生死到来时,你怎么办?”

师父立即说:“茶我饮,饭来食。”

    A little ironic, isn’t it? Something that is a profound part of life comes down to forms and applications. The birth of a child is celebrated but also in the death of a loved one, families gather to celebrate the life that has passed from this world.
