Student: How to maintain mindfulness in the day? Master: If you want to practice mindfulness, try to create different calmness in mind. Otherwise, the mindfulness is only a thought. After you practice meditation for an hour, you will have certain level of calmness. You start to carry the calmness with you. But then gradually the calmness is fading away. Why is the calmness fading away? It is because your self-attachment comes up again. It is because you start to walk and to talk to people. That is why the calmness starts to decrease. You need to come back to have the calmness. Otherwise, what is the meaning of mindfulness or be mindful? If your calmness goes down to this level, "be mindful" is only this big. Keep practice. Practice makes it perfect.

Yes I think we need lots of reminders to stay calm and mindful. Otherwise we revert to habitual tendencies and forget to stay calm and peaceful. Thanks for sharing and reminding!

Indeed. Everyone of us needs reminders from either self or from others. "Keep practice" as mentioned by Master will help a lot. And once calmness increases, you are able to see more "reality."
